Lea Michele released her first statement about the death of her boyfriend, Glee actor Cory Monteith, in late July, but her appearance at last nights Teen Choice Awards marked the first time anyone has seen the actress emotionally honor her lost love in public.
Michele stepped onstage in a pink dress and dedicated her award for best actress in a TV comedy to Monteith, who died from a drug overdose in July, reports The Associated Press.
For all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did, I promise that with your love were gonna get through this together. He was very special to me and also to the world,said Michele. We were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart so whether you know him personally or just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and he became a part of all of our hearts.

Other winners at the Teen Choice Awards includedPitch Perfect, which received awards for comedy, actor in a comedy (Skylar Astin) and actress in a comedy (Rebel Wilson). Music award winners included Demi Lovato for female artist and One Direction for music group.
