Production is back on for the Colbert Report, which will return to the air tonight.
As Rolling Stone reported last week, the show had abruptly suspended taping after canceling the February 15th episode at the last minute due to unforeseen reasons.
While neither Comedy Central nor Stephen Colbert himself released an official statement explaining the hiatus, reports emerged that Colbert was taking the time off to care for his 91-year-old mother.
On February 17, Colbert tweeted a note of thanks to those who had expressed concern:
My family and I would like to thank everyone who has offered their thoughts and prayers. We are grateful and touched by your concern.
Tonights episode will feature the novelist Ann Patchett discussing independent bookstores.
