Musicians play their instruments I play the orchestra. That key line, from the new trailer for upcoming biopic Steve Jobs, is delivered by Michael Fassbender, as the enigmatic Apple moguldefends his position against co-founder Steve Wozniak.
What do you do? Wozniak (Seth Rogen) asks his business partner. Youre not an engineer. Youre not a designer. You cant put a hammer to a nail. I built the circuit board. The graphical interface was stolen. So how come, 10 times in a day, I read Steve Jobs is a genius. What do you do?
Wozniak isnt the only one making heated complaints in the first official trailer for Danny Boyles upcoming look at the computer-industry titan. Jobs struggles to maintain control against former CEO John Sculley and a crew of developers who are pushed to their limits. (Youre insubordinate, says Sculley, played by Jeff Daniels. You make people miserable.) Meanwhile, Macintoshs ex-marketing chief Joanna Hoffman (Kate Winslet) encourages Jobs to manage expectations as his ever-ambitious vision grows.
