Grumpy Cat, nee Tardar Sauce the Internets favorite genetic mutant will receive her own Lifetime Original Movie, a live-action Christmas special to air this November. Titled Grumpy Cats Worst Christmas Ever, the eponymous curmudgeonly feline will be voiced by her human equivalent (in character, at least): actress Aubrey Plaza.
The movies premise sees Grumpy Cat playing a lonesome mall pet shop resident who never gets adopted because of her notoriously sourpuss face. When a 12-year-old named Chrystal realizes that she can hear Grumpys voice, a series of quirky misadventures take place through which they may or may not learn the true meaning of Christmas.
Tardar Sauce has been a busy cat lately. The two-year old released her first albumthis past summer alongside fellow celebrity felines Oskar the Blind Cat and Hamilton the Hipster Cat, wrote the book The GrumpyGuide to Life: Observations by Grumpy Cat which is now in print in 14 languages, and even made time to visit the Rolling Stone offices to help promote our Lana Del Rey cover. Shes currently the spokescat for Friskies,teamingup with the companyto support Rescue Bank, a nonprofit that donates pet food to rescue shelters.
Plaza recently starred in the indie flick Life After Beth as a dead girlwho comes back as an ill-mannered zombie to wreak havoc on her ex-boyfriends life. Next up, shell reprise her role as beloved bitchy-resting-face-sufferer April Ludgate on Parks and Recreations final season, premiering September 24th on NBC.
Grumpy Cats Worst Christmas Everairs November 29th at 8pm EST on Lifetime.
