Christmas is coming early to Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center when Martin Short hosts Saturday Night Live with musical guest Paul McCartney on December 15th. It will mark Shorts third time hosting, and McCartneys fourth appearance asa musical guest.

Last time McCartney stopped by SNL, he kept busy,performing five songs, appearing in the opening monologue, showing up in a digital short and stopping by Weekend Update where he unleashed an impression of Prince Charles wife Camilla Parker-Bowles.
McCartneys SNL date will also come on the heels of his appearance at the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy benefitat Madison Square Garden. Another intriguing factoid: his visit overlaps with the Rolling Stones upcoming gigs in Newark, New Jersey. A surprise cameo there would be a mighty gift indeed.
