Katy Perry will perform her new Teenage Dream single California Gurls live for the first time at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, airing as-it-happens from Los Angeles on June 6th. Im proud to represent the West Coast at the MTV Movie Awards in the magical glow of the Hollywood sign with my new single California Gurls, Perry said in a statement, adding, I hope it will be the theme song to a lot of summer loving, I know it will in my house! Perry is a seasoned vet when it comes to MTV awards shows: In addition to performing at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, she served as host at both the 2008 and 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Perry and Christina Aguilera, who will perform her new single Not Myself Tonight, are the only two artists confirmed to take the stage at the 2010 Movie Awards, though the roster of presenters reads much more like a Hollywood party: Steve Carell, Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Jessica Biel, Zac Efron, Bradley Cooper, snowboarder (and RS cover star) Shaun White and Get Him to the Greek stars Jonah Hill, Sean Diddy Combs and of course, Katy Perrys fianc, Russell Brand, who has hosted the past two MTV Video Music Awards with great flair.
Added to that growing guest list today is the cast of Grown Ups Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, Rob Schneider and David Spade plus Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Anna Kendrick, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Aubrey Plaza. The whole affair will be hosted by Parks and Recreation star Aziz Ansari. Since The Twilight Saga: New Moon dominated this years nominations and Eclipse is on the way, Twi-hards can also expect a handful of their favorite actors in attendance as well.
