Items from the set of The Hunger Games films are fetching up to $30,000 in an eBay auction organized by Profiles in History. Clothes worn by the cast and prop weapons are amongst the 411 lots available in the auction.
The highest starting bid is for the black chariot ensemble worn by Jennifer Lawrences character Katniss Everdeen. The costume is currently at $30,000 while three other Katniss costumes round out the most expensive items in the auction. The Peacekeeper military vehicle is another expensive item, starting at $10,000. Clothes worn by characters Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), Cinna (Lenny Kravitz), Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) and Caesar Flickman (Stanley Tucci) can also be bid on in the auction.
Other items include a variety of prop weaponry, including Katniss hunting bow and knives used during training montages. Less dangerous props, like the sign for Peetas family bakery, are also available on the lower end of the price range, starting at $200-$400 each. The auction will take place on Friday May 20th.
The Hunger Games films are based off a trilogy of adventure novels of the same name. The first film premiered in 2012, two years after the trilogy ended, while the final installment was split into two parts released in 2014 and 2015 respectively. Each film opened at number one upon their releases, with the series becoming one of the highest grossing film franchises of all time and rivaling other fantasy film adaptions Harry Potter and Twilight.
