Watch James Bond Uncover Shadowy Spectre in New Trailer

Explosions and moody silhouettes dominated the first teaser for Spectre, but the James Bond flicks official trailer fills in more of the plot. The two-and-a-half-minute clip follows Daniel Craigs iconic secret agent as he journeys across the globe, uncovering the existence of the titular nefarious criminal organization.

The trailer opens with Bond in Mexico City during the Day of the Dead Festival, strolling the streets wearing a skull mask before sniping an enemy from a rooftop. In Rome, he strikes up a romance with Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci), the widow of a criminal killed by Bond. Despite intense questioning from his superior, M (Ralph Fiennes, debuting in the role), the agent uses the trademark gadgetry of Q (Ben Whishaw) and resources of Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) to track down Madeleine Swanne (La Seydoux), the daughter of his former foe Mr. White and a key figure in solving the SPECTRE riddle.

The deeper Bond investigates, the more trouble arises including what the trailer description calls a chilling connection between himself and [Franz Oberhauser], played by the ever-magnetic Christoph Waltz. As we noted in our teaser coverage, the use of the Oberhauser surname which appears on a guardianship document that placed a child Bond in the care of Hannes Oberhauser suggests the film will establish a showdown between two adoptive brothers.

Spectre, the 24th installment in the franchise and Craigs fourth stint as 007, marks the title organizations first appearance in a Bond film since 1971s Diamonds Are Forever. The new movie was directed by SkyfallsSam Mendes and co-written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan.

The film will premiere October 26th in the U.K., hitting theaters worldwide on November 6th.
