What began as mutual admiration between Amy Schumerand Jennifer Lawrencehas blossomed into a movie, as the two actresses havecollaborated on a new script where the duo will play sisters. Lawrence revealed that in addition to co-starring in the as-yet-untitled film, she and Schumer were also co-writing the script.
We play sisters. Were almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. Weve got about 100 pages right now, Lawrence told to the New York Times. Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. Its been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up. Im flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. Well write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing Trainwreck.
Schumer and Lawrence first met last month after the American Hustle actress told the comedian that she loved Trainwreck. Soon after, photos of the two jet-skiing together went viral. Schumer then visited The Daily Show and explained how her friendship with Lawrence began. Once a year, I go away with all my girlfriends from high school, Schumer said, adding that she asked Lawrence if she wanted to tag along on a trip to the Hamptons. I was like, Oh, were going on a boat tomorrow. You should come,' Schumer said. It was kind of a hypothetical. And she was like, I think Im coming.'
While no studio details or release date have been cemented for the project, the film should have no problem getting the green light considering Lawrences appeal as Hollywoods highest-paid actress.
