The Terminator franchise is getting a reboot by Paramount, which is planning a new trilogy of films starting in 2015,The Associated Pressreports. The first film is due in June 2015, though theres no word whether ArnoldSchwarzenegger will return.

Schwarzenegger played a malevolent time-hopping robotic assassin in the first film, and returned as a protector in the second. The original and its sequels, 1991s Terminator 2: Judgment Day and 2003s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines,went on toearn more than $1 billion worldwide. Schwarzenegger made a brief appearance in a fourth film, Terminator Salvation, in 2009 when he was governor of California.
Laeta Kalorgridis (Avatar) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry) will write the screenplay for the movie, the fifth in the Terminator franchise. Annapurna Pictures, which was also behind Zero Dark Thirty, will produce.
