The CW is working on a new superhero series based on the DC Comics character Hourman. The show will chronicle a pharmaceutical analysts transition into a superhero after he realizes that he can see tragedies an hour before they happen.
The Hourman pilot will be written by Michael Caleo, whose previous credits include The Sopranos and Ironside,according to the Hollywood Reporter. Initially created in 1940 by Ken Fitch and Bernard Bailey, Hourman is the moniker adopted by Rex Tyler, a scientist who discovers that a new drug, Miraclo, gives him these superpowers.

Comics shows are all the rage nowadays. Hourman follows DC Comics other TV venture, Arrow, an adaptation of The Green Arrow, which also airs on the CW. The creators of Arrow are also working on aFlash pilotstarringGlees Grant Gustin for the network and the channel is considering Amazon, a Wonder Woman prequel, as well. NBC and DC film scribe David Goyer (Man of Steel, The Dark Knight Rises) is also adapting Constantine, and Fox just placed a straight-to-series order for Gotham, a Batman prequel centered around Commissioner Gordon.
