Nothing wrong with a tribute to real-life Navy SEALs, the heroes who took down Osama bin Laden. But Act of Valor is an awkward something else. Filmmakers Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh have enlisted real SEALs to play themselves in a movie that's impure Hollywood fiction. The action, involving Chechen rebels, Mexican drug cartels and assorted terrortists, is staged. And it's hardly the fault of these commandos that their acting deserves no salute. Intruth, they're a lot better than Charlie Sheen was in the 1990 crapfest that was Navy SEALs. I don't know what to make of Act of Valor. It's like reviewing a recruiting poster.
