Jerry Seinfeld Prepping Five New York City Standup Shows

Jerry Seinfeld is set to perform a full standup show in a different theater in each of New York Citys five boroughs on most Thursdays from October 4th to November 8th, Reuters reports.

I was born in Brooklyn, went to school in Queens and started out as a comedian in Manhattan, said Seinfeld in a statement. I feel like New York City taught me how to be funny. Im so excited to perform a special series of shows for my beloved home town.

No stranger to the combination of New York, standup and Thursday night which is when Seinfeld aired on NBC between 1990 to 1998 the shows mark Seinfelds first full sets in New York since he sold out the Broadhurst Theater in 1998.

The five shows will feature Colin Quinn as opener. Tickets go on sale July 30th.

Recently, Seinfeld jumped on the web series bandwagon with his new show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, which is exactly what it sounds like. The in-car talk show features Seinfeld cruising and chatting with friends in one of his expensive cars as they go try to grab a solid cup of coffee.
