Will Ferrell and the Red Hot Chili Peppers Chad Smith put aside their doppelganger-fueled rivalry on Friday night to join together on a cover of the Rolling Stones Honky Tonk Woman. As Consequence of Soundreports, the pair rocked the classic track as part of the elegantly-named supergroup I Pissed My Pants, which also included country singer Brandi Carlile, Pearl Jams Mike McCready, Guns N Roses Duff McKagan, and Stefan Lessard from Dave Matthews Band, during Ferrells Cancer for Collegebenefit at Seattles University of Washington campus.
The eerily-similar-looking Ferrell and Smith first took the stage togetheron The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this past May for a drum battle that also raised money for Cancer for College, along with Little Kids Rock. Although Ferrell won the drum-off for his performance of Dont Fear the Reaper, the result apparently left Smith unsatisfied.

In a post on Facebookearlier this month, Smith promoted the Cancer for College event by stoking the flames of rivalry. Will Ferrell claims hes coming to Seattle on Sept. 19. Ill bet he pops off about his alleged Drum Off victory, he wrote. I just might have to be there to call him out on it and settle the score once and for all. The only way you will know for sure is if you are actually there to see it with your own two eyes.
In the lead-up to Mays drum battle, Ferrell hinted to Rolling Stone that an epic feud was just getting started. It may be something too powerful for the audience to even handle, so it may just be an one-time event, the comedian said. Man only went to the moon once, right? But it could become the beginning of a rivalry that will go on until the end of time.
The group returned, sans Ferrell, to also perform the Rolling Stones 1968 classic Jumpin Jack Flash. (Footage courtesy ofLenz/Skerritt Media.)
