Muses Neutron Star Collision Named First New Twilight Single


The first band confirmed to appear on the soundtrack for the latest installation in the Twilight series is a vet of the first two movies: Muse. Matthew Bellamy and Co. have been tapped to contribute the first single to the The Twilight Saga: Eclipse album, which is due out June 8th (the film hits theatres June 30th). The Resistance rockers, who also happen to be Twilight author Stephenie Meyers favorite band, wrote a new song called Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever) for the project, Meyers official site reveals. The track will be unveiled in just 10 days, on May 17th. The soundtrack is available for pre-order on Amazon, and Twi-hards have already pushed the release to Number 25 on the current Amazon Music Bestsellers list without even knowing the rest of the track list.

Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever) marks the first time Muse have contributed a brand new song to a Twilight soundtrack. The first film in the series featured Black Holes and Revelationss Supermassive Black Hole and New Moon included a remixed version of The Resistances I Belong to You. According to the official Muse site, the trio wrote and recorded Neutron Star Collision earlier this year before it was handpicked to kick off the Eclipse soundtrack.
