Taylor Swift Provides a Haunting Piano Lesson in The Giver

Taylor Swiftis about to hit the big screen alongside Jeff Bridges in The Giver, and a new clip from the film gives an early look at her eerie role.

Swift appears in the clip as a brunette, holographic apparition playing the piano and doing a little creepy humming. Its Rosemary, the previous Receiver, Bridges Giver explains to Brenton Thwaites Jonas. She no longer exists, except here and in my memories. She was in training only two short months. She wanted to experience everything.

The Giver, an adaptation of the 1993 Y.A. novel by Lois Lowry, is set in a dystopian society that has eliminated pain and suffering, right along with free will and emotional depth. The film follows a boy named Jonas who has been selected as the Receiver of Memory, tasked with storing up all of the societys memories from the past, under the guidance of the Giver. The film opens on August 15th.

Bridges recently stopped by The Tonight Show to promote the movie, and he told Jimmy Fallon that during shooting, he and Swift would break out their guitars and jam between setups.

Swift got in character for an entirely different role this weekend in a preview for her own upcoming visit to The Tonight Show. Donning thick glasses and braces, the singer appeared in a YouTube clip as her new alter-ego Natalie, an awkward young lady angling for a guest spot on the teen-girl basement talk show Eww!
